The story behind In a Moment, is the story behind Heart Gemstm.  Heart Gemstmwas created because of this poem.  I wrote In a Moment on the birthday anniversary of my daughter Caitlin who died before she was born.  Her death has been the most influential event in my life.  It forced me onto a path I would not have chosen.  In coming to terms with losing her too early, I started to embark on the Why's of my life.  In effect, the messages of Heart Gemstm were born from my questions.  As life is full of ups and downs, I write and reflect.  Caitlin taught me to look inward and to continue to challenge myself to be a better person to my family and friends.  Heart Gemstm is her gift to me and all who come in touch with Heart Gemstm. To honor her memory, we donate this necklace to the Perinatal Loss Center at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.  Our hopes are to continue to expand and donate to more loss centers across the country.

in a moment 

my life had changed 

a loved one dies 

i feel alone 

my moments are long 

it's hard to breathe 

how do you walk forward 

when your thoughts 

are on yesterday? 

then in a moment 

a fleeting moment 

you are able to see around you 

a quick moment when 

you breathe through yesterday 

it’s a moment of freedom to live again 

in a moment, a departed loved one 

sends a song 

a song of sunshine 

a song filled with smiles 

it's a moment - a wonderful moment
